Daniel O’Rear’s Will

Lee Hoffman of Mt. Sterling Kentucky, found a copy of "Prince William Co, VA Will Book C (1734-1744)" that was abstracted and compiled by John Frederick Dorman in 1956. Daniel O’Rear’s (No. 3) will is included in this book.

Daniel Oriar of the County of Prince William and Colony of Virga. being very sick and weak in body.

To my loving son John Oriar that part of my land lying and being between the North side of Goose Run and the south side of the county road.

To my loving son Daniel Oriar my plantation whereon I now live with the remainder of my land lying and being between the North side of the County road and the south side of Dorrets.

To my loving son John Oriar one young cow and calf, one three years old mare, one three gallons iron pott, two pewther basons, each one gallon, three new pewther plates to be delivered when he arrives to the age of twenty one years.

To my loving son Daniel Oriar one young cow and calf, one three year old mare, one four gallons iron pott, one new pottel bason, and new deep pewther dish, three new pewther plates to be delivered when he arrives to the age of twenty one years.

To my loving wife Easter Oriar all the rest of my estate (not before will’d or named). And further my will and desire is that my two sons John and Daniel Oriars beforenamed have each of them two years schooling and I likewise constitute make and ordain my dearly beloved wife, my father in law, William Thorn and my brother John Oriar my only and sole executors.

My will and desire is that my estate be not appraised.
